Compile

The updated version of Compile (File>Compile) is going to require a whole course to cover, but hopefully you’ll find this new version a bit easier. Compile now works with section types that you can apply to each type of document to determine what kind of formatting they get. The best part is that Scrivener now easily allows individual exceptions, which you can set in the Metadata pane of the Inspector, or in the Compile window.

If you got really good at working with the old version of Compile, and still want to see what’s “under the hood,” you can access it by clicking the + button in the Compile window and choosing either New Format or Duplicate & Edit Format.
