What Others Have Said
Long-ish but helpful
By: Karin Forno
I got this course when I couldn't figure out how to do anything on Scrivener and I didn't feel like the tutorials made any sense. It's helpful and there are review notes as others have said. I found it much better than the Scrivener tutorials.
Organization, Clarity and Functionality are the Hallmarks Gwen’s Lessons

Scrivener is an amazing program that has many applications for professional authors, journalists, as well as for those of us who have interesting life experiences that are worthy of note. Gwen Hernandez has brought clarity and function to this complex program. Harken back to that one teacher who found a way to introduce a level of understanding and purpose to those dizzying stumbling blocks encountered through school, and found the key to unlock your mind. With revelation comes enlightenment and capability.
Gwen’s, Scrivener Classes, The Basics and Beyond, is that comprehensive learning tool that allows you to get in the drivers seat and take your work to a new level with the knowledge that you will arrive at the finish line. You will have the resources and the cheat sheets at your fingertips to refresh your memory, and keep yourself out of that literary ditch (so to speak).
Gwen delivers from the heart. At her core she is a fine compassionate human being, and those characteristics are extrapolated into her work. She cares, and for that reason, she has put everything into her classes to make you succeed in your own projects.
The Fog Has Cleared

I've been a fan of Scrivener and Gwen Hernandez for a while but could never seem to grasp the navigation and utilization of the software. This class with its easy to understand and follow instructions and tutorials has been a godsend. So comprehensive and also manageable. I'll recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn to use Scrivener either as a first time user or a more seasoned user to more fully realize the capabilities. So helpful! I'll definitely sign up for more courses presented in this format. Well done Gwen 👏🏽
Good Starting Place
By: Williford.r
Had played with Scrivener on and off for nearly a year before trying Gwen's course. Wished I had started here. There is a lot of material covered in an easy to follow format. My only comment was on the organization of the sections. Some sections were much lighter in content than others. Wondered if they could have been combined into larger chunks. Videos were very effective at showing what text was telling. [Ernie would approve.]
Hit the ground running

Scrivener I: Basics and Beyond is the best way to get started with Scrivener. The first lessons will help you get Scrivener installed, guide you through creating your first Scrivener project, and give you an easy-to-understand overview of Scrivener's main features. From there the course delves into the nuts-and-bolts of how to leverage Scrivener's capabilities to help you stay organized and keep your writing on track, follows up with an overview of Scrivener's powerful export feature, and finishes with a guide to keeping your writing projects safe with Scrivener's flexible backup function. Whether you're a Scrivener newbie or a you just have that nagging feeling that there's more to Scrivener than you've learned on your own, Scrivener I: Basics and Beyond is the place to start. I highly recommend it.
Not Just The Basics
By: HSS
Fantastic course.
I've been using Scrivener for years. Long enough to think I know enough to work efficiently. Think again, I was surprised at how much I didn't know. The course taught things I never realized that Scrivener was capable of doing. I would have saved myself quite a bit of time and headache. I appreciate the 'cheat sheets' as I will keep those handy in a notebook next to my computer.
I highly recommend this course.
One week of Basics and Beyond
By: edbordeau
I just completed the Basics and Beyond course!
Many online videos cover some of the lessons found here, but you have to see a lot of them and look past each of their particular personal biases and styles. It seemed like they still had more to tell, but kept running out of time -- no matter how well scripted.
This feels complete.
I have already started working my own projects with confidence that I know how to use Scrivener enough that my writing will get from mind to page, instead of holding back for want of "missing" pieces of the application.
Thank you!
I look forward to taking the intermediate and advanced courses.
Extremely helpful

I had no idea what Scrivener can do...until I took Gwen's course. There is a lot of information to digest. Fortunately, Gwen provides notes! I'm a longtime Word user, but I'd like to use some of the tools Scrivener provides. I'm feeling more confident about using the program, and I know Gwen's notes will get me out of a corner if I get lost or stuck.
